CAPTAIN STIRLING SHOPPING CENTRE
The redevelopment of Captain Stirling Shopping Centre is an exciting opportunity for the City of Nedlands to define a town centre. From day one both the Client and the Architect agreed that maintaining the iconic Moreton Bay Fig tree would be a key outcome of the design. A sweeping curved awning reflects the trees canopy while allowing abundant shade for the cafe to spill out into the open courtyard. The standard ALDI design was adapted to reflect the eclectic palette of Nedlands including the white capped exposed brick landscaping, bold colours of the Broadway strip and a nod to the Windsor Theatre through the curved awning.
