Banjima Short Stay Community Housing

Cloverdale

Status: Under construction
Client: Banjima Native Title Aboriginal Corporation

The Banjima Short Stay Community Housing provides short to medium-term accommodation for Banjima members visiting Perth for medical treatment, training, and similar purposes. The facility will be professionally managed, with a live-in caretaker ensuring smooth operations.

Banjima Country, situated in the central Pilbara region of Western Australia, remains deeply significant to its Traditional Owners, who maintain a strong connection to its ancient landscapes, including the Fortescue Marsh and Karijini National Park. Inspired by the natural surroundings, the design incorporates a material palette that reflects the region’s textures, creating a warm, home-like environment built for longevity.

Today, many Banjima community members live across Western Australia, from Perth to key Pilbara towns such as Karratha, Roebourne, Onslow, and Port Hedland, as well as in remote communities like Youngaleena, Wakathuni, and Wirrilimarr. This project provides a welcoming and familiar place to stay, ensuring that community members have a home away from home while in Perth for medical, training, or business needs.
